Introducing CyberShock!

Steven Netcott - Monday, December 06, 2010

Hi everyone, my name is Steven Netcott and welcome to my first CS Blog! Let me start off by telling you a little about Austin Minnihan and I. Austin and I met when we were in the 7th grade. Austin had just moved and it was his first year at Gilbert Schools. We became best friends and still are today. A lot of people tell us we look like brothers! Aside from that Austin has always been a “tech.”

By the time Austin was in the 9th grade he had a website developed called tgr2009 and it represented our graduating class. People started to catch on realizing how good he was with computers and they began to utilize his skills. It wasn’t long after that he was getting involved with Gilbert Schools to bring them to the next level of technology. While he was still in school he redesigned the Gilbert School’s website. He still helps out by creating and running graphics for the scoreboard during football games, along with streaming the live broadcast of the football games.

As for me, well I can be described as the talker. I have always been good and presenting myself and being comfortable with everyone. I was involved in the FFA in high school and I was elected the FFA chapter Sentinel for 1 year. I enjoyed helping out Austin with his technology adventures.

Since I am a business oriented person I began to wonder if we should construct a business together. The ideas started to pour out and that is how CyberShock came to be. It has been a year since then and we are keeping hold of our dreams making websites for school districts, small businesses, and anyone else.

Gilbert Community School District allowed us to redevelop their website recently. It is one of my favorites; click here to view the site. This week, we are finishing up a website that we are donating to the Habitat for Humanity Chapter here in Ames, Iowa. We will have it up soon! Click here to view the site! A new blog will be up soon!
